Clay County Museum and Historical Society

Located on the Liberty, Missouri, courthouse square and housed in an 1865 building that served as a drugstore and doctors' offices, this collection of local history focuses on the area's connection with "Little Dixie"--the Southern-sympathizing counties of Missouri that lie south of the Missouri River. On the upper floor, an early 20th-century mural of the region's history adds interest.
