The County Historical Society and Genealogical Chapter are housed in the former sheriff's residence, office and jail, in Fredonia, Kansas.
Located on the east side of the Square, the Wilson County Historical Museum is also housed in the old sheriff's residence, office and jail.
Exhibits include collections related to Fredonia, and Wilson County, Native American items, and more.
Most of the time there is a genealogist at the museum. The museum houses the obituary index for the county, and the library houses the microfilm.
